There were no surface defects or anything sharp. The finish is mirror reflective. It is faceted like a disco ball which makes for a slightly different experience than a perfectly smooth plug. Because I got these as a vine item and am responsible for a review, I left the medium one in for much longer than I normally do as I know many people do that. It did cause mild discomfort from the handle and felt like wanted to reposition it. But I kept it in and it became less bothersome. I think that’s something a person could get used to - normally I use t-handle or other shapes and not plugs with solid round handles so I’m probably just sensitive. I’m sure I could have started out shorter and worked up to longer wearing duration. So if you normally use plugs with solid round handles I think there is no issue. If you don’t, you may find you want to take it out before you’re ready. I’m giving it 4 stars because it’s well made, nice finish, nice weight, and overall seems like a quality set.
